Akisphère 2015

The Akisphere 2015 was played amongst locals but still offered some interesting play. In the doubles finals François Depatie-Pelletier came back from a one year drought to win his 5th title in 7 years with the help of his partner Luc Legault. Their opponents, Patrick Asswad and Manu Bouchard offered a good opposition in the first game but kind of crumbled in the second as we can see from the scores: 15-10 / 15-5



In the singles finals François, again, beat veteran Martin Côté in a tough three setter. 21-15 / 17-21 / 21-18. The weather was hot and muggy so the players had to work very hard to finish the match.

The podium in doubles was completed by a last minute team formed by Gilles Demers and Yves Archambault. In a completely crazy match they had the better of Martin Côté and Luka Weyler-Lavallée. After loosing the first game by 3-15 they came back from huge deficits in game 2, from 8-13 to 17-15 and game 3, from 0-7 to 15-13
